We know that the Scandinavians and Japanese styles have a subtle yet functional sense of minimalism. The growing trend is tipped as ‘Japandi’ style, which is mix of the best worlds. Embracing more white color, some natural wood and simple color palette, the influence of the great Nordic and Japanese designers of the 50′s still rules the minimalists home.

The ‘Japandi’ style lets large areas stay open and bright, yet comfortable spaces. The furniture design combine a traditional and modern sense of design, prioritizing the functionality.

More Than Just Muted Color Tones

Muted tones inspire a great sense of calm mindset, and a appear cleaner in general. But this does not mean color should be given up. The palette has it, with yellows giving your interiors a warmer look, and the blues embrace a sharp appearance.

Ranzospace recommends to choose pure tones that blend well with neutrals, such as earthy browns. And using nature inspired colors for wall-paint and other decorative objects. For indoors, one can use neutral tones such as white, tan, and beige as they feel organic and clean. For reading and meditative spaces, blues are refreshing like water and sky, while yellows give bright luminosity like sunlight.

Designing with Respect to Natural Materials

Staying at home, we all have learnt how the natural touch is important to all of us. We have lost the contact with the earthy elements that make us feel fresh, relaxed and one with the earth.

The best way is to include the elements inside our houses. The most suitable way, is through plants. But we recommend using other elements that are found in nature. Just like pebble, stone, a raw piece of wood, some sea shells, etc. If you don’t have the elements around you, you can always try and use a reference of those. Just for example, having a wall artwork that has a simple green leaf painted on it.

Natural fibers like rattan, hemp or jute have a distinct texture, and you can use them on carpets, baskets or lamps to create a relaxing mood in your home.
